Reason #1
To see where the MCU is headed narratively. It’s been a tricky time since the end of the Infinity War saga. The big baddie actor portraying Kang I hope this movie begins to better connect the dots on the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
Teyonah Paris
I’m really looking forward to seeing her in this movie. We got a glimpse of Monica Rambeau in WandaVision. I’ve also really been impressed by Paris’s non-Marvel roles. Most notably, in Candyman and They Cloned Tyrone. Her chemistry with Brie Larson will be a point of focus for me—I think it’s critical to the success of the Marvels team-up.
Kamala Khan
Disney+’s Ms. Marvel is a polarizing show. Some liked it. Some hated it. And many fell somewhere in between. I’m in the latter group.
The show is not without its warts but lead actress Iman Vellani is more than satisfactory in the lead role. My hope here is that she’s buoyed by a better story, a more compelling villain, as well as the acting prowess of her elder “Marvels.”
Let’s hope the 33rd MCU movie entry gives a jolt to the franchise (Guardians of the Galaxy 3 aside—which is excellent), and the superhero movie genre in general.
