The Top Four Reasons To See Fantastic Four: First Steps

July 27, 2025 By Ja Dawes

I’m going to be short and sweet with my four reasons to see Fantastic Four: First Steps. The reasons are not listed in any order, they’re just listed.

Reason #1

Sci-if’s favorite dad, Pedro Pascal, is playing his third popular dad role. From portraying an adoptive father to Grogu/Baby Yoda in the Mandalorian to serving a similar role to main character Ellie in The Last of Us, Pascal finally gets to play a biological dad to a newborn.

Reason #2

With all due respect to Tim Story’s two mediocre Fantastic Four films (although I have a secret affection for the Rise of the Silver Surfer) and Josh Trank’s atrocious Fantastic Four (2015), I’m geeked to see what the capable Marvel Studios does with it. I trust Kevin Feige, despite some recent misses in Phase V.

Reason #3

What the critics are saying, is very encouraging. At the time of this post, it currently has an impressive 88% certified fresh 🍅 score, with a 93% audience score 🍿! Those are reasons enough to check it out.

Reason #4

My final reason is really geeky. I mention Rise of the Silver Surfer being a guilty pleasure of nine in Reason #2 above. However, one thing I did NOT like in that film is its depiction of Galactus as a gigantic, tornado-like entity. Judging by the final First Steps’s trailer, we’re getting “two big feet 👣 doing the stepping and stomping” as the villain.

And I can’t wait to see it all.
