I was unpleasantlys surprised by how mediocre the first few episodes of the Book of Boba Fett were—save for Fett’s compelling flashback scenes with the Tuscan Raiders aka “Sand People.”
I’m sure the show-runners didn’t plan to start out the series but in underwhelming fashion, and then have it rescued by Djin Djarin and Grogu (“Baby Yoda), but that’s exactly what happened!
It’s kind of a shame because I thought this series would course correct the legend of Boba Fett as he was inadvertently killed by a nearly blind (at the time) Han Solo in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983)—who knocked him into the Pit of Sarlac on Tatooine many years ago.
In short, the Book of Boba Fett didn’t do much to redeem the most lauded, but equally overrated character, in Star Wars movie history. The best part of the series is that it sets up The Mandalorian, Season 3, featuring Djarin who now wears the mantle of the most popular bounty hunter a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
Who woulda thunk it? 🤔
