Star Wars The Force Awakens A Ton Of Comments From My Family And Friends

December 23, 2015 By Ja Dawes

Star Wars The Force Awakens comments from me and you, your momma and your cousin too…

Not only has Star Wars The Force Awakens shattered the box office opening weekend record, it may be the most talked about, Tweeted about and YouTube viewed Internet topic in quote some time.

As a result, I decided to ask my close buddies, who are also Star Wars fanatics, to share their musings on the latest story in a galaxy far, far away…here are a few.

  • I liked it — ALOT. Didn’t fall out of my seat loving it, but I thought it was real good and that the younger actors were excellent. Abrams did a great job integrating the old generation with the new.
  • Going in, I had a feeling that Luke wasn’t part of the story — and he wasn’t until the closing scene, which sets up the sequel nicely. I also had a feeling Han was going to die. Harrison Ford reportedly told George Lucas during the filming of The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi that someone needed to die for the cause and it should be him. Sadly for Star Wars fans, he got his wish.
  • I must admit that I got a little teary-eyed, when Chewy slumped his shoulders in the Millennium Falcon after Han’s death. That was tough to watch.
  • However, I didn’t like that FOR THE THIRD TIME, it was WAY too easy for the rebels/resistance to go in and blow up the Death Star! I thought that part of the story was very sloppy/hasty. The Empire/First Order, with all of their might and vast resources, should be able to better protect their assets. They can’t keep rolling out these massive, murderous space stations, only to have them blown up by a few taped up X-wing fighters and a Millennium Falcon that was re-claimed from the junkyard. Just sayin’.
  • And lastly, I wanted to know more about what went wrong with Han Solo, Princess Leia, and their son “Ben”/Kylo Ren. I guess we’ll find out more on that later. ~ Comments provided by B. Byrne.
And my younger brother shared his sentiments, but kept it brief.
I honestly don’t have any big dislikes about the film but loved each of the following:
  • Harrison Ford;
  • Rey and Finn’s relationship/friendship;
  • Finn and Po Dameron’s friendship;
  • The conflicted and intimidating villain Kylo Ren, and his serious anger management issues, and the
  • Successful intertwining of a new, original story with classic elements of Episodes IV-VI.

I hope you enjoyed the thoughtful musings of my extended Superhero Movie Talk family. Feel free to share your musings as well.
