In less than a week, Spider Man Far From Home hits theaters in the U.S. I must admit, with Avengers End Game ending the 22-movie odyssey that led to the defeat of Thanos, “Far From Home” feels a bit anticlimactic.
However, after reading that this film may feed into the larger Spider-Verse 🕸 and spawn (no comic book antihero pun intended) an era of stand-alone MCU stories, I have gotten a bit more excited in the past few weeks.
What I’m most looking forward to
Besides the aforementioned (potential) tie-in to Spider-Man’s massive multi-verse of characters, I’m most looking forward to Jake Gyllenhaal and his portrayal of Spider-Man baddie Mysterio.
The trailers have been mysterious like said characters’ name. Is he an ally in this adaptation. Is he a sneaky villain? Or is he neither, and more of an antihero a la Loki.
I’ll let you decide…see below.

In closing
I’m hearing early reports that this is the best Spider-Man movie to-date. That’s extremely high praise considering how good Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 is, how entertaining Spider-Man: Homecoming is, and how groundbreaking Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is.
I’ll just have to wait-and-see. However, given the MCU’s sterling 22-flick deep track record, history suggests that we will not be disappointed.
