Rogue One: A Christmas Story

December 14, 2016 By Ja Dawes

It is fitting that Christmas is right around the corner. I’m feeling like a 10-year old boy waiting for his AT-AT to be under the tree when he wakes up in the morning. That’s right, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story comes out this week, and it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

How I’m Preparing For The Movie

I’m brushing up on Star Wars references and trivia. I’ve been watching the Rogue One trailers to prep myself for my opening night experience. I’ve also been reading @starwars updates on Twitter every day. But most importantly, I’ve had Star Wars: A New Hope; The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi on heavy rotation for the past several days.

What I’ll Be Wearing On Opening Night

I am not a cosplayer by any stretch of the imagination but I will definitely don some Star Wars-themed apparel. My choices include: a custom-made BB-8 beanie; a New York Mets/Stormtrooper baseball cap, or a Darth Vader hoodie. Decisions, decisions.

When & Where I Will Watching The Movie?

I’m slated to see Rogue One twice during the opening week. My initial viewing will take place at a nearby Alamo Draft House. I love their tailored menu, movie trailers and give-aways whenever a Star Wars movie drops. My second viewing will include a larger group at another theater, and will definitely be seen in 3D. If I like it enough, I may see it a third time. We shall see.

As you can see, I am a diehard Star Wars fan. Scratch that! I’m a fanboy because I will be channeling my “inner Peter Pan,” acting like a 10-year old boy who won’t grow up … for at least a week!
