As I sat here watching the mistake-filled Monday Night Football contest between the New York “Football” Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles, I “geekerly (yes, I made up another word)” awaited the halftime world premier of the latest Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer.
And I was NOT disappointed!
Due to various plot leaks online, I have a decent sense of what I think the storyline will be like. But I didn’t let this inside information taint my viewing of the trailer. Like my siblings, who were “geekingly” (please add another word to your vernacular) texting me in anticipation of the trailer, I was preparing to watch a few minutes of awesomeness.
And awesomeness it was.
I even went as far as to capture as many scenes as I could on my iPhone, and then proceeded to post them to my Twitter account.
The music, imagery and crisp dialogue suggest that J.J. Abrams’ continuation of the Star Wars saga will be as much homage as it will be an original journey.
And for that, as a child of the 1980’s, I am not mad at all!
