I’ll keep it short and sweet. I liked the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer. On a scale of 1-10, I give it an eight.
What I liked..
I like Spider-Man’s more classic-looking costume. I did notice that the spider symbol on the front of the costume looks similar to Andrew Garfield’s from the Amazing Spider-Man franchise. Not sure if that’s good or bad. 🙂
I absolutely love seeing The Punisher 💀 featured in the trailer. I’m happy to see another Netflix Marvel character—Daredevil being the other, prominently featured in the MCU.
It was also cool seeing the seemingly forgotten Scorpion 🦂 character in the trailer. After being teased in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, it’s nice to see him back.
What I didn’t like…
There isn’t much to dislike about the trailer. If there’s one nitpick I have, is that it feels a bit derivative to Spider-Man 2. More specifically, Peter Parker/Spider-Man seems to be having an existential crisis of sorts. But I will reserve judgment until seeing the movie. Trailers are often misleading.
The verdict: I’m most definitely 💯 seeing it opening night. I may pull out my Spidey 🕷️ fit!
