Why does the Star Wars franchise insist upon telling stories that come before the original trilogy (1977-1983)?
From Andor to Obi-Wan to Ahsoka, I’m tiring of the preceding narratives. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed all of the aforementioned shows on Disney+, but can we please move forward Kathleen Kennedy?
To be fair, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed Star Wars: The Acolyte through five episodes, especially episode five! But I still would like to see the franchise to newer, more modern stories in the Star Wars universe. ✨
A few ways to move the Star Wars franchise forward
- No more stories involving the Skywalkers, Solos or Palpatines for the next 5-7 years at least.
- Ensure that the next big screen release focuses on Baby Yoda and/or the Mandalorian.
- Let’s table the Jedi for a few years unless it’s included in new stories surrounding so-called grey Jedi, Moth Gidian, Baby Yoda or the underexposed history between the Jedi and the Mandalorian cultures.
- Give us more Wookiee legend and lore.
- And lastly, let’s begin exploring events after the Rise of Skywalker (2019).
I hope everyone had an enjoyable Star Wars Day (May 4th) last month. Stay Force-full! ✨
