With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it’s appropriate that I share some of the comic book movie-related things that I am thankful for this year and going into 2025.
5. The Penguin was a magnificent show. Not only was it one of the best superhero shows of the year, it was one of the best shows in general. I expect it to be nominated for many awards.
4. The Captain America: Brave New World trailers look encouraging so far, especially this one. It will be the MCU’s first film since the blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine this summer. I’m cautiously optimistic that it will build off of that film’s momentum.
3. The aforementioned Deadpool & Wolverine single-handedly rejuvenated the comic book movie genre, which seemed to be suffering from some fatigue by fans. Thank you Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman.
2. Denzel Washington will be in a superhero movie. Denzel Washington will be in the MCU. Denzel Washington will be in Black Panther 3. Marvelous news to say the least.
1. With 2024 nearing its end, I’m thankful that the Joker and Venom franchises have (hopefully) run their course after the underwhelming Joker 2 and Venom 3, respectively.
Gobble, gobble! 🦃
